Jessica dreamed of more than classic maternity portraits to celebrate her second pregnancy. Of course, she wanted her 3 year old son and husband to be a big part of the celebration, AND she wanted to collaborate together to create an art piece.
She was drawn to vintage, texture and silhouette. For this piece, her husband and my assistant help a large piece of stretch lace in front of her as she stood in front of the big picture window in the studio. This sandwiched her in between the lace and the chiffon creating the texture in the original image. We wanted a partial silhouette effect so that some details of her face/body were still visible. I process the final portrait in sepia tones, with antique french script, and a hint of a vintage polaroid frame.
She looks like a gorgeous fertility goddess!
Jessica, Rob and big brother, Declan, welcomed Kylan into the world on August 13. Jessica sent me this adorable picture of Kylan so as she put it, “Thought I’d show you what Kylan looks like from the outside!”
Congratulations to Jessica and Rob on the birth of your beautiful son!
