Imitating Natural Light With A Speed Light

First, I LOVE natural light! It is soft and beautiful. Some days it is too cloudy to shoot natural light in the studio. That is no longer the case with this sweet little setup. By bouncing a soft box enclosed strobe against the white walls and through a scrim (think shear curtain) I can replicate beautiful soft natural light. The pictures show the lighting setup, a picture shot without the strobe to show how little ambient light is hitting the camera sensor, and a self portrait with strobe firing. This also means I can shoot later in the day if needed. The photography geek in me is swooning!! For any of my fellow geeks, the camera setup is ISO 200, f2.8, 1/100 s, AWB on a canon 5d miii. The canon speed light is set to 1/2 power.
